Passionate about triathlon and the Guelph Triathlon Club. I love to watch members achieve their goals!
Therese trained for her very first road race event in 2006 – a Marathon. Since then, she has crossed the finish line in 17 Marathons, including the Boston Marathon, and many other shorter distance road races. Her journey into multi-sports began with a Duathlon in 2006. At that time, despite feeling very uncomfortable in the water due to a swimming accident as a child, Therese set a long-term goal to complete a Triathlon one day.
In 2015, with the help of GTC’s head coach, Miguel Vadillo, Therese faced her fears, and felt encouraged by fellow GTC members to race in her first Try-a-Tri and Sprint Triathlon. That summer, Therese gained the confidence to complete an Olympic Distance Triathlon, and one year later, completed her first 70.3 Half Ironman Distance Triathlon.
Therese has lead several Learn-to-Run programs from 5 km to Marathon distances, studied Personal Training with CanFitPro, completed the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) in 2015, and began coaching with GTC in 2016.
